Vidya makes its presence felt in KETCON 2018

Vidya has made its presence felt in KETCON 2018 by participating in huge numbers and winning a few prizes. A notable achievement was the award of First Prize to a M Tech (Power Electronics) student in a paper presentation contest. The Kerala Technological Congress 2018 (KETCON 2018) is an initiative of the Centre for Engineering Research and Development (CERD), the research arm of KTU, to provide a platform to the students, academia and the practicing professionals in engineering and technology to discuss and exchange their ideas and research experience for the benefit of the society. It was jointly organised by APJAKTU, KSCSTE and Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology and was held in Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology during 23-25.02.2018.

M Tech (Power Electronics) student secures First Prize for paper presentation
Sharon Joji, M Tech (Power Electronics) student  of the College, secured First Prize in a paper presentation contest for her research paper titled “High efficient fault tolerant DC-DC converter for wireless charging of battery” under the category of Power Electronics & Power Systems.

A research paper by EEE faculty presented

Dr. Sudha Balagopalan, Akhila R, Krishnakumar M and Vishnu Rach K R, faculty members of the EEE Dept of the College, presented a paper titled “Integrated Protection Model for Power System Personnel”  under the category Power Systems & Smart Grids.

The following five students of M Tech (Power Electronics) programme of the EEE Dept of the College were selected for presenting their research papers for the paper presentation contest under the category of Power Electronics & Power Systems in KETCON 2018.

 

1) Irine K Rajan : Paper titled “A hybrid resonant PWM full bridge converter for the partial shading problems in PV arrays”
2) Karthik Sen K : Paper titled “Performance analysis of BLDC motor driven solar PV array fed water pumping system employing zeta converter”
3) Mary Adlin K M : Paper titled “High voltage gain DC-DC converter with coupled inductors for PV systems”
4) Reshma V S : Paper titled “Development of multiport converter for hybrid renewable energy systems”
5) Sharon Joji : Paper titled “High efficient fault tolerant DC-DC converter for wireless charging of battery”


B Tech (CSE) student presents a paper
 Abdulla Anas (S6 B Tech (CSE A batch)) presented a paper titled “Improve UI of Web Applications” under the category “Development in Computer Application”.
