Vidya NSS volunteers observe  World AIDS Day with awareness session

To make the younger generation aware about the causes, tests and treatments for treating HIV infection, Vidya NSS volunteers attended an awareness session on 01 December 2022 to spread awareness regarding AIDS  and to create awareness among the public on fighting the HIV and AIDS, marking the World AIDS Day.

World AIDS  Day is observed on 01 December  every year since 1988. This day is dedicated to raise awareness  educate and improve the HIV as a global public health problem. As part of this, an awareness programme was conducted by Velur Health Centre. The programme was conducted in the seminar hall of  EEE Dept. Mr Rajesh S K (Programme Officer and Asso Prof, EEE Dept) delivered welcome speech and also appreciated the effort taken by the volunteers. Mr Rajesh (Health Inspector, Velur Health Centre) enlightened the volunteers with his session about ‘Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome’. At the end of the programme the volunteers lightened up candles for an AIDS free generation. Mr Rajesh S K (Programme Officer and Asso Prof, EEE Dept) co-ordinated the event.
