5 Days FDP on Sensors & IoT Based Embedded Systems
The Department of ECE, VAST in association with Association of ECE, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Institution of Engineers (India) and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) organized a 5 Days Faculty Development Programme on Sensors & IoT based Embedded Systems. The FDP programme had resource persons from IITs, various deemed universities and industry. The programme was presided by Dr. Sudha Balagopalan, Principal, VAST and inaugurated by Dr. Jagadeesh Kumar, Professor, EEED, IIT Madras. Dr. Barathram Ramkumar, Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar, Er. G Mohanachandran, Executive Director, VICT and Dr. V N Krishnachandran, Vice Principal & HoD, MCA, VAST felicitated in the occasion. On Day 1, forenoon session was handled by Dr. Jagadeesh Kumar, Professor, EEED, IIT Madras on the topic “Bio-Sensors, its applications & future trends and scope”.

On Day 1, afternoon session was handled by Dr. Bharathram Ramkumar, Asst. Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar on the topic “MIMO & Software Defined Radio.” On Day 2, the session was handled by Dr. Sivaraj D, Asst. Professor, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore on the basics of “Embedded Systems & ARM 7 programming”. Day 3 and Day 4 was handled by Mr. Peeyush K P, Asst. Professor, Amrita School of Engineering, Ettimadai also the Alumni of VAST (1 st Batch of ECE 2003-2007) on “Arduino Programming and verification using Proteus Tool, Node MCU ESP 8266 DVK Kit programming and developing IoT projects using Ubidots cloud platform”. On Day 5, the sessions were handled by Mr. Bhadhran V K, Associate Director, CDAC (TVM) and Mr. Jerry James, Scientist, CDAC (TVM) on “Role of Embedded Systems in Medical and Communication field”.
