International Health Olympiad – First round completed

With an objective of creating awareness on health and health related topics to the younger generations, the first round of the International Health Olympiad was conducted. International Health Olympiad (IHO) is an initiative of Fr. Davis Chiramel, supported by Vidya Engineering colleges and Lakeshore Hospital, Ernakulam. The technological support for the Olympiad was powered by Edu Mithra Intellectual Services, Ernakulam. Exams were held online as well as offline including questions on healthcare as well.  The students from Classes V- XII participated in three categories divided into Junior, Senior and Super Senior. Over  1500 students participated from  inside and outside India. Many students attended the exams at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thalakottukara and Vidya IT Division, Thrissur. As many as 1000 candidates attended the exams online. The staff and students of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur helped in the smooth conduct of the online exams. The first round of the event was inaugurated by Fr. Davis Chiramel. Principal, Dr Sudha Balagopalan welcomed the audience. Er. G Mohanachandran, Executive Director, Vidya International Charitable Trust, presided over the function. IHO coordinator, Dr S. Swapna Kumar, Dr Vineetha also attended the function. The final round of the Olympiad will be held on International Health Day which falls on 7th April, 2017. The event will be held at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur.
