CERD Student Projects: VAST has much to be proud of!
The List of student projects selected in the Screening Committee meeting of the Centre For Engineering Research And Development (CERD) of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University held on 18th February 2017 makes some interesting reading.
Out of the more than 150 Colleges affiliated to APJAKTU, names of only seven colleges appear in the list. Among these seven colleges there are only 4 self-financing colleges, namely, Saint Gits, VAST, Jyothi and SCT. The aided/govt Colleges that appear in the list are CoE TVM, RIT Kottayam, and MA CoE Kothamangalam. Out of a total of 28 projects selected, the highest number of projects (11 numbers) was from MA CoE. MA CoE also got about 52% of the total money sanctioned. The second highest number of projects selected was from Saint Gits (6 projects) and the College got about 15% of the total money.
The third highest number of projects was from VAST with 4 projects. (VAST shares this honour with CoE TVM!) This is indeed a great achievement for VAST and VAST has much to be proud of in this regard. (However there is a small rider: VAST has got only 6.12% of the total amount where as CoE TVM has got about 15.32%. But, comparing the stature of CoE TVM with that of VAST, this is a spectacular achievement indeed.)
One project has been selected from each of the remaining three colleges.
