Principal’s exhortation to 2018 pass out batch students: Excel in placements
On Friday, June 16, 2017, Principal, Dr. Sudha Balagopalan addressed the final year students of the 2018 pass out batch in the College Auditorium. These included the students from the S7 B. Tech. classes and the final year students from the MCA and M. Tech. programs. Principal exhorted the students to prepare in right earnest from day one itself and to try to emulate and achieve much more than what their immediate seniors have achieved who, collectively, had secured more than 212 placement offers from recruitment drives held in the campus itself. She requested them to get to her office through group tutors and the placement office in addressing whatever assistance they may need to achieve the goals.
Mr. Paul Chakola, Head of Training and Placement, shared the likely schedule of events, training calendar and the list of some of the likely training programs to help equip the students to face the various selection processes. He also highlighted the newer modes of recruitment that is now coming in vogue, viz. recruitment through internships – one M. Tech and nine B. Tech students have been selected for internship at TCS from the 2018 pass out batch. Another avenue is the contest route. TCS Code Vita and Testimony and Ingenium from Quest Global are some such events. The session which began at 11:00 am lasted one hour and forty five minutes.
