NSS units organise workshop on Gender Equality and Child Rights at Velur
A one-day workshop on Gender Equality through National Service Intervention Scheme (GENSIS) was organized by the NSS units of the College in association with the Directorate of Social Justice and the National Service Scheme, Technical Cell (Kerala), at Velur Grama Panchayath on 30 August 2017. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Sherly Dileep Kumar, Velur Grama Panchayath President, Velur, Thrissur. Mr. Anil M, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the gathering. The Presidential address was delivered by Smt. Jemila Rajeev, Ward Member, CDS Chairperson, Velur Grama Panchayath. Vote of thanks was delivered by Vishnu P C (Volunteer Secretary of the NSS units of the College).
As part of the workshop, an awareness programme on Child Rights was taken by Mr. P K Shyam (Panchayath Member, Velur Grama Panchayath, Thrissur). This was followed by a session on Gender Equality which was taken by Adv. Hilma Joseph. The main aim of the workshop was to make the people of Velur Grama Panchayath aware about the need to promote gender equality in our society and also to create awareness on child rights protection.
