ME and PE Depts jointly organise one-day Workshop on Maintenance of Automotive Components
The Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering jointly organised a one-day workshop on “Maintenance of Automotive Components” on 21.12.2017 for the benefit of students of Polytechnic Colleges. Around 40 students from Thyagaraja Polytechnic College, Alagappanagar, St. Mary’s Polytechnic College, Palakkad, Govt. Polytechnic College, Chelakkara, and Govt. Polytechnic College, Kunnamkulam, participated in the Workshop.
The activities of the Workshop began with an inaugural ceremony held in the Language Laboratory of the College. All dignitaries who spoke on the occasion, Prof Dileep. Head of PE Dept., Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Principal, Er G Mohanachandran, Executive Director, Dr V N Krishnachandran, Vice-Principal, Mr P Velayudhan, Workshop Superintendent, and Dr Ramachandran, Head of ME Dept., stressed the importance of acquiring higher qualifications for a successful career in engineering. There was a special talk by Mr Subin, a lateral entry student of the final year B Tech (PE) on his experiences as a student of the College.
As part of the activities of the Workshop, there was a career guidance talk by Prof Dileep, a two hour session on automotive fault monitoring, maintenance and signal processing by Mr Midhun (Asst Prof, ME), practical sessions in gear cutting and production facilities, and a session on simulation modeling and the tools used in system analysis by Mr A P Praveen (Asst Prof, ME).
