NSS units organise 3-day Training for Domestic Maintenance Engineer
The NSS units of the College organized a three-day State level programme “Training for Domestic Maintenance Engineer” under REAP of Social Research Society (SRS), during 25 – 27.01.2018. The aim of the programme was to start a common skill development center in the College through which various training programmes and hand-on workshops could be arranged. A session on safety measures to be taken when using electrical appliances was handled by Mr Prasoon Mangalath (Training Instructor, GPSC Mattannoor). A hands-on session on repairing of electrical and electronic appliances like fan, fridge, CPU, CRO etc. was handled by NACT members and Field Officers. On the third day, NSS volunteers visited houses near the College and repaired the damaged electronic appliances. As many as 120 NSS volunteers from various Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges participated in the programme.
The programme was officially inaugurated by Prof Vidya Sagar (Regional Joint Director, DTE, Govt. of Kerala). The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Nisam Rahman (Chairman, SRS). The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Sudha Balagopalan (Principal). The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Abdul Jabbar Ahamed (Program Coordinator, NSS Technical Cell, Kerala). Mr. Justin Joseph (Project Consultant, NSS Tech Cell), Mr. Godwin Benedict (District Programme Officer, Kollam), Mr. Faisal C H (Programme Officer, MEA College) and Mr. Naseem Hashmi (ARM, Technical Cell) felicitated the event. Mr. Akshay Sanjay (NSS Volunteer Secretary) proposed a vote of thanks.
