Police train girl students in self-defense

It was an exciting experience for the girls students of the College to participate in a self-defense training given by the police personnel under the auspices of the Women Empowerment Cell of the College. A hundred odd students were present for the Programme held in the College Auditorium on 22.03.2018 as part of the celebrations of the International Women’s Day 2018 in the College. The training was given by a team of women police personnel under the leadership of Ms Udayachandrika S, Thrissur Rural Vanitha Cell SI, a pleasant and charming women police officer.

Earlier, the programme was formally inaugurated by Ms. Shirley Dileepkumar, Velur Grama Panchayath President, in a function presided over by Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Principal. Dr Asha P Rao, Professor of Social Work, Vimala College, Thrissur, who was participating in the Programme as the Chief Guest, gave a very motivating talk. Mr Sibeesh V P, Erumappetty Police Station SI, felicitated the participants. Dr Rose V V (Professor, Humanities Dept), Advisor of Women Empowerment Cell, welcomed the guests and the participants and Ms Salakala K S (AP, MCA Dept), Convener of the Women Empowerment Cell, proposed a vote of thanks.
