Dreaming of joining a PSU? Get past GATE!
An awareness talk about the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) was held in the Auditorium on 19 February 2019 for the 2020 pass out batch B Tech students. The main speaker of the session was Mr Mathew Kurian from Manifold, an institute in Thrissur that provides assistance for IES, GATE and PSU Exams, who touched upon the various placement and higher education opportunities that are available to students upon being GATE qualified. He told the students about the subject areas that are tested as part of this competitive exams and on how to prepare for it. The list of top institutes and universities taking students for M Tech programs along with their indicative selection cut-off scores was shared. Besides higher education opportunities, almost all of the the leading public sector companies in India, viz. SAIL, IOC, OIL, ONGC, BHEL, BEL, NTPC, etc. are now recruiting fresh candidates only on the basis of the GATE score. GATE score is also a valid score for recruitment to country’s leading research establishments like ISRO, BARC, and also at some of the leading private sector companies like L&T, etc.
