IEDC conducts Robotics and IOT hands-on session

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center (IEDC) in association with Skill centre organised a ‘Robotics and IOT hands-on session   on 29 July 2022 in the CAD Lab of the CE Dept. The plus one students from  Harisree Vidya Nidhi School, Punkunnam along with three teachers attended the session .

The  session was organized with the support of  Mr Anil Melepurath (IEDC Nodal Officer, Asst. Prof, ECE Dept). The welcome address was delivered by Mr Shankar R (Asst. Prof, ME Dept )

The Session

The  Internet  of Things (IoT) is basically a network of things capable of communicating with other things. The Internet of things describes physical objects with sensors, processing ability, software, and other technologies that connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the Internet or other communications networks. Robotics is also about reducing human involvement. With robotics, we develop ways to delegate human tasks to machines. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a technology that uses robots to automate repetitive tasks and manual processes enhancing the work of employees by interacting with websites, business and desktop applications, databases and people to execute repetitive and often mundane work.

Considering these objectives an overall hands-on session was conducted on ARDUINO which is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs – light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message – and turn it into an output – activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online.

Resource person for the session was RPA Specialist,  Mr Sachin Sudheesh (S8, EEE Dept) and  assisted by Mr Jeeva H M (S4, ECE Dept). The lecture on “ Robotics” and a live hand -on session were also handled  by Sachin Sudheesh   with the support of Jeeva . After the training, students were taken to the campus visit include different labs and central library

Dr. Anjali P. Sasidharan  (Asst. Prof. of  CE), co-ordinated the  entire session.

Hearty appreciation to Mr Sachin and Mr Jeeva
