‘PRAJNA’  – Seven  Day / Night Special Camp provides unique opportunities to the NSS Volunteers

The NSS Units at Vidya has been delivering their best to nurture the principles of  NSS in a manner that ensure significant contribution of all stakeholders. The activities carried out in Seven Day/Night Special NSS Camp ‘PRAJNA’at GHS Thayyur during 26 December 2022 – 01 January 2023 served as a milestone in fostering social responsibility and nationalism among young NSS volunteers.

The program started by Manavageetham song by NSS volunteers. The program was inaugurated by Mr T R Shoby (Velur Grama Panchayath President ).The welcome speech was delivered by Dr Saji C B (Principal). Ms Vimala (Ward  Member)  and  Mr Rajesh (Junior Health Inspector) offered  felicitations. The session ended with vote of thanks delivered by volunteer secretary. After that,ice breaking session was conducted by Alkesh Mohan V (senior volunteer).

The activities such as parade drills, cleaning drives , surveys, assembly etc during the camp have  helped volunteers to affirm their  commitment toward the service of the society and its weaker sections. The students also presented  cultural programmes including  dances and orchestra that gave a visual delight to the audience. Mr Nithin (Sub Inspector of Police), Mr Jesto (Energy Cell Regional Co-ordinator), Mr  Sminesh Kumar (Fire and Rescue Officer), Mr Anil M (Former NSS Program Officer  and Asst Prof, ECE Dept) and Arun K L (Former NSS Program Officer  and Asst Prof, ME Dept, VAST TC Kilimanoor) handled various awareness and orientation sessions .

The camp was held with great enthusiasm and zeal under the leadership of  the NSS Programme Officers, Mr Rajesh S K (Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Mr Shine P Xavier  (Asst Prof, CSE Dept), Ms Sarika K T (Asst Prof, ECE Dept) and Ms Chithra M (Asst Prof, CE Dept) with an ardent support  from  Ms Amrutha Krishnankutty (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and the entire participants.

The  Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending hearty appreciations to the volunteers of  NSS units and  the Programme Officers on the successful completion of the camp that help them to equip themselves with an insight, compassion and to lead a life of dignity with positive mind set and contribute to the growth of Nation !!!
