AIML Dept conducts one day workshop on “Machine Learning using Python”

To understand the basics of machine learning and how to implement machine learning algorithms on our data sets using Python, the Dept of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML)  organized a one day workshop on “Machine Learning Using Python” on 28 February 2023 for diploma students. Machine Learning is continually transforming the day to day lives of people and has become so pervasive today. Machine Learning is an application of Artificial Intelligence which allows computers to learn automatically from data without being explicitly programmed. Python has been designed with the provision for creating Machine Learning algorithms and is preferred as the best platform for Machine Learning systems.

The objective of the workshop was to make the participants aware of theoretical and practical aspects of Machine Learning algorithms using Python. Dr. Sunitha C (HOD, AIML Dept) and Ms. Aparna S Balan (Asst. Prof, AIML Dept) handled the sessions. The students from different polytechnics like WPTC Neupuzha, MTI Thrissur and GPTC Kunnamkulam participated in this workshop.

Inaugural Session

The workshop began with an inaugural session at 9.30 am. Dr Sunitha C (HOD, AIML Dept) delivered the welcome speech and gave a brief overview of technical sessions of the workshop. Dr Saji C B (Principal) inaugurated the workshop and delivered the inaugural address. Ms Aparna S Balan proposed vote of thanks. The technical session begins with a primary introduction to basic machine learning methods. This session was followed by hands-on sessions on Python programming fundamentals and demonstration of machine learning algorithms using scikit-learn library in Python. At the end of the workshop, a feedback session was arranged and the participants shared excellent feedback regarding the conduct and contents of the workshop. The participants were awarded e-certificates for their participation.

The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity  in extending hearty appreciations to Dr Sunitha and Ms Aparna on  the successful conduct of the workshop that stimulates budding engineers’ appetite for high-level performance and for further challenges !!!
