EEE Dept conducts workshop on “Introduction to Embedded Systems Using Arduino”

Vidya faculty members always give their potential to accelerate the learning capacity of the students by conducting workshop, seminars and hand-on training sessions.With this motto, a  one-day workshop on “Introduction to Embedded Systems Using Arduino” was hosted by the EEE Department exclusively for the Electrical Diploma Students of Thiagarajar Polytechnic College, Alagappanagar, Thrissur, on 03 March  2023. As many as 40 students attended the program. The focus of the workshop was to impart programming and interface skills using the Arduino board.

The inaugural ceremony was commenced with a welcome speech by Dr. Mary P. Varghese (HoD, EEE Dept). Dr Saji C B (Principal) gave presidential address. Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT) inaugurated the function. Mr Arun Xavier, (Asst Prof, EEE Dept), the resource person of the workshop, gave an overview of the program. Mr Krishnakumar M (Asst Prof, EEE Dept) proposed vote of thanks.

After the formal inauguration, the students were introduced to the software platform for Arduino boards called Arduino IDE. In the hands-on hardware sessions, students were given on board training on digital read, digital write, analog read, analog write, serial monitoring, etc. In the last few hours, they were asked to complete a small project using all these functions.

Mr Arun Xavier (Asst Prof, EEE Dept), led the sessions with different examples of projects. Mr Jayaraj K V (Trade Instructor) assisted the resource person during the sessions. The workshop concluded with a valedictory function in which Mr Krishnakumar M (Asst Prof, EEE Dept) felicitated the participants.
