GDSC conducts session on “Leap into Flutter”

GDSC (Google Developer Students Club) with the enthusiastic support of students provides enormous openings to discover essential talents for the tech enthusiasts by conducting several  sessions on Google Cloud.

The Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) at Vidya conducted an online Flutter session called “Leap into Flutter”. on 12 April 2023. The session was held on GMeet from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm and was attended by around 45 students. The session was an entry-level session that covered everything required to get started with Flutter.

Flutter

Flutter is an open-source UI software development kit created by Google for developing high-performance mobile applications for Android, iOS, and web platforms. It uses the Dart programming language and provides a rich set of pre-built and customizable widgets, making it easier and faster to build beautiful and responsive apps. Flutter is gaining popularity among developers due to its hot reload feature, which enables them to make changes in the code and see them instantly reflected in the app without having to rebuild the app. Flutter is a powerful tool for developing mobile applications, and its popularity is increasing rapidly.

The session was handled by Aadithye N (S8, CSE Dept and Technical Lead of GDSC VAST). The participants  were welcomed by Adithyan V S (S8 CSE Dept and Android Lead of GDSC VAST), and he introduced the resource person. Aadithye N guided the attendees through setting up their workspace, explaining how Flutter works, and how to write code for it. The session concluded with step-by-step instructions on how to set up a boilerplate app and create a component Flutter 

Gayathri Satheeshkumar (S8 CSE Dept and Lead, GDSC VAST) concluded the session. The students provided positive feedback about the session and expressed their interest in attending more sessions on Flutter. The upcoming sessions on Flutter will also help the students with their academic projects. Ms Mahalakshmy A (Asst Prof,  CSE Dept. and GDSC VAST Faculty Advisor) provided wholehearted support for the session.

Overall, the “Lead into Flutter” session provided an excellent learning opportunity for the students to get started with Flutter.
