AI ML Dept organizes Value Added Course on ‘Machine Learning Tools in Python

The Dept of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) has been conducting various sessions and Value Added Courses to provide a solid foundation, equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of programming practices.

The Dept recently conducted an enriching add-on course tailored specifically for third-year students. This comprehensive course, titled “Machine Learning Tools in Python,” aimed to enhance students’ grasp of programming essentials. Mr Sudhesh K M (Dept of Computer Engineering, Govt. Polytechnic College, Palakkad) led this educational initiative and guided participants through theoretical discussions and hands-on sessions.

The course spanned five enlightening sessions was held during 17-23 July 2024. Throughout these sessions, participants delved into fundamental principles of Python programming, gradually progressing to more advanced concepts such as libraries, data visualization, image preprocessing, supervised and unsupervised learning, and an introduction to deep learning.

The impact of these sessions was profound and resonated with all attending students. They unanimously expressed appreciation for the sessions’ effectiveness, noting the heightened clarity gained on programming fundamentals and their practical applications.

In the valedictory function,Dr Jeeva K A (HoD, AIML Dept) addressed the students and emphasized the importance of empowering themselves with the skills and knowledge. As a token of respect and gratitude, a memento was presented to Mr Sudhesh by Dr Jeeva. Ms Anju K P (Asst Prof, AIML Dept) co-ordinated the value added course.
