CE faculty members  participate BIM workshop

BIM (Building Information Modelling) is the trending concept in Civil Engineering where we can generate and manage digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of Structural Elements.

The faculty members of the Civil Department, including Dr Abhilasha P S (HoD, CE Dept),Ms Nirmala Krishnan (Asst Prof, CE Dept),Ms Ponsy Paul (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Mr Kiran Babu A R (Asst Prof, CE Dept) participated in an enriching workshop on BIM software held at Sobha City, Thrissur, on 25 October 2024. This session was conducted by CADD International in collaboration with BIM Channel, providing a comprehensive insight into the latest BIM applications and innovations in the field of civil engineering.

The workshop focused on advanced BIM techniques, showcasing how the integration of BIM can streamline project management, improve precision in design, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration within construction projects. Faculty members gained hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and methodologies, which emphasized the practical applications of BIM in enhancing construction workflows and minimizing resource wastage.

Additionally, the session covered emerging trends in BIM, such as 4D and 5D modeling, which include time and cost parameters in the BIM process, offering valuable knowledge on how these tools can be integrated into academic and practical settings. This training not only equipped the faculty with new skills but also aligned with the department’s vision of fostering innovation and excellence in civil engineering education.

Hearty appreciation to all involved !!!
