AIML Dept conducts FDP on DEEP DIVE into DEEP LEARNING”

The department of   AIML  realizes the  contribution of Deep learning techniques in artificial intelligence and continue to drive innovation in various domains. With this aim  the Dept successfully organized a 5-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Deep Dive Deep into Learning during  12 – 17 December 2024. The program sponsored by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Institution of Engineers (IE), and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), witnessed an overwhelming response with 83 participants, including over 50+ external participants from various institutions across Kerala.

Dr Jeeva K A (HoD, AIML  Dept) delivered welcome speech,emphasizing the importance of deep learning in todays technological landscape.The program was formally  inaugurated by Dr Sunitha C (Principal).Mr Sureshlal  (Executive Director, VICT) Adv P N Unnirajan IPS (Retd.) (Director-Administration, VICT) were felicitated for their contributions to the institutions. Ms Sinda P Xavier (FDP Co-ordinator, Asst Prof, AIML Dept) outlined the schedule, which featured expert sessions on various  aspects of deep learning. Ms Riya Roy,the (FDP Co Co-ordinator, Asst Prof, AIML  Dept) proposed the vote of thanks,expressing gratitude to the dignitories. 

The FDP featured five days of intensive sessions, each focusing on a specific aspect of Deep Learning mainly on NLP and Computer vision. Eminent resource persons, including Mr. Sudheer T.M (Asst Prof,, ECE Dept, Government Engineering College Thrissur),Dr. Manu Madhavan (Asst Prof,CSE Dept,IIIT Kottayam), Dr Seenia Francis (Asso Prof, ,Jyothi Engineering College), Dr.Jeena Kleenankandy (Asst Prof,CSE Dept,CUSAT), and Mr Pradeep T(Product -Engineering Specialist AI, LTIMindtree Bangalore) delivered the valuable sessions.

Each eminent resource person shared their expertise and provided hands-on experience to the participants.The program covered topics such as Introduction to Deep Learning, Advanced Deep Learning Concepts, Deep Learning for Computer Vision, Deep Learning for NLP, and Project Implementation in Deep Learning. The sessions were designed to equip faculty members and researchers with advanced knowledge and skills in Deep Learning.

The FDP concluded with a valedictory function, where certificates were distributed to the participants. The program’s success has paved the way for future collaborations and knowledge-sharing initiatives in the field of Deep Learning.
