Vidya Central Library commemorates India’s rich cultural diversity with Republic Day Speech Competition
Republic Day holds huge significance as it commemorates the adoption of the Constitution and assures its citizens’ rights and duties.
To honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters and to celebrate the democratic principles and to embrace the various traditions and customs that make India unique, VAST Central Library in association with Vidya Literary Club and ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) organized a Speech Competition ‘SAS’ – Speak and Shine with the theme the theme for Republic Day 2025 “Unity in Diversity: Celebrating India’s Cultural Heritage”.
Before the speech competition, Mr Girish Kumar P C (Librarian) addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the constitution and its unique features and significance of theme for Republic Day 2025.
The Students in their speeches highlighted the promotion of national unity , India’s commitment to democratic ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. They presented their vision during their speeches that showcases India’s rich cultural diversity.
Ms Nirmala Krishnan (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Ms Surabhi M S (Asst. Librarian) served as judges of the competition that enabled students to compete and share their perspectives on the theme woven into highlight the strength found in our diversity.
The event was held under the leadership of Mr Girish Kumar P C (Librarian) and supported by Mr Aneesh M A (Library Attendant) and Mr K Vijayanarayanan (Library Attendant) .
