EEE Department Association inauguration and release of the Technical Magazine ‘SURGE’ set a vibrant tone for the academic year

The EEE Dept has been  encouraging  students to actively participate in association-related activities and facilitate interaction between faculty, students, and industry experts.The EEE Dept Association Day was successfully celebrated on 23 January 2025.

The program started with prayer by Akashkrishna M  (S8, EEE Dept). Dr. Mary P Varghese (HoD EEE Dept) delivered the welcome address. The program was inaugurated by lightning the lamp by the chief guest Mr Midhun Mohan (Sub Engineer, KSEB,Thrissur,2005-09 Batch, EEE Dept).In his inaugural address, he shared his experiences as a student as well as an engineer which was very interesting.

Mr Krishnakumar M (Dept association staff-in-charge, Asst Prof,EEE Dept) gave an overview on association activities. On this auspicious occasion, Mr Ajin Aravind (Executive Director, ROOTS,2003-07 Batch, EEE Dept) declared the results of Roots-3. Mementos and certificates were distributed to the achievers of different streams like sports, arts, students with excellent involvement in MoU, academics and projects.The chief guest released the first Technical Magazine. Akashkrishna M (S8, EEE Dept, Student Co-ordinator, EEE Department Association) rendered the vote of thanks.

Release of  the Technical Magazine ‘SURGE’ 

At the event, the EEE Department proudly introduced SURGE, its first-ever technical magazine. This publication serves as a platform for students, faculty, and industry professionals to share their knowledge, experiences, and groundbreaking innovations in the field of electrical and electronics engineering.

The magazine was developed under the guidance of a dedicated editorial team, led by Dr Mary P Varghese (HoD,EEE Dept). The editorial team comprised Christeena Thomas (2020–2024 batch, EEE Dept),Abhinav A J (2020–2024 batch EEE Dept),Geethanjali V R (2020–2024 batch EEE Dept) and Anjay Krishna (S6, EEE Dept).They were ably supported by the staff advisor, Ms. Sheeja G (Asst Prof, CSE Dept) whose expertise and mentorship were invaluable throughout the process.

The highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the first copy of the magazine. Dr. Mary P. Varghese, along with the editorial team, presented the inaugural issue to the chief guest, Mr. Midhun Mohan  amidst a round of applause from the audience.

The primary objective of SURGE is to create a vibrant forum for exchanging ideas, knowledge, and best practices within the field of electrical and electronics engineering. The magazine also aims to inspire students and professionals alike to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges in their respective domains.

The cultural activities presented by students of different semesters were very charming and served as visual treat to all spectators.
