Empowering Voices & Accelerating Action : Extempore Competition ‘HOPE’ on Women’s Day by Vidya Women Empowerment Cell & (IE(I)

Vidya girl students unleashed the power of speech at the International Women’s Day Extempore Competition, ‘HOPE’ (Holding Outstanding Powerful Empowerment) organized by the Vidya Women Empowerment Cell (VWEC) in association with Institution of Engineers (India) (IE(I) on 08 March  2025.

HOPE : “The Paradox of Representation: Equality in Words, Inequality in Action” : The Ongoing Struggle for Equal Representation in Decision-Making Roles.”

Emphasizing the urgency to Accelerate Action highlights the necessity of taking swift, decisive measures to achieve gender equality to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” urging a proactive approach to dismantling systemic barriers in both personal and professional domains. With this aim and to show our solidarity,  Vidya Women Empowerment Cell organized an Extempore Competition for girl students with the topic “The Paradox of Representation: Equality in Words, Inequality in Action” : The Ongoing Struggle for Equal Representation in Decision-Making Roles.”

The contestants  highlighted the power of words and action in driving societal change and focused  on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality.The competition featured dynamic and thought-provoking speeches, where participants conveyed impulsive presentations on topics related to women’s empowerment Accelerate Action Many participants showcased incomparable articulation and powerful  perspectives, efficiently addressing the importance of accelerating gender equality efforts.

Librarian) encouraged participants and  provided an unbiased and professional evaluation of each participant based on content, clarity, confidence, and originality. The event ‘HOPE’ witnessed remarkable support from not just female participants but also from male allies, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts toward gender equality.Sinan Sulaiman (S8, ME Dept) and  Nikhil Mukundan (S8, CSE Dept) along with Dhrishya Anil (S6, CSE Dept) and Sruthi Cinto T (S4, CE  Dept) assisted  in organizing and ensuring the smooth execution of the competition that prepared  the event inclusive, impactful, and a true reflection of shared responsibility in empowering women.
