A step towards excellence and a new era of innovation begins with the inauguration of the Oracle Academy Center of Excellence at Vidya

Vidya witnessed a momentous occasion that marked a significant milestone in advancing education and technology, fostering innovation, and equipping students and staff with cutting-edge skills in computing and software development.

The inauguration ceremony of the Oracle Center of Excellence (CoE), established by Vidya Academy of Science and Technology to promote best practices in Oracle technologies, ensure innovation and high-quality services, was successfully held on 14 March 2025.

The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr Sunitha C (Principal) who emphasized the importance of embracing technology and utilizing available resources for professional growth. Following this, Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT) delivered a special address, highlighting the vast resources and opportunities available to students today.

The inaugural speech was delivered by Ms Anuradha Sharma (Head, Oracle Academy, South Asia) who spoke passionately about the role of education in shaping the next generation. She emphasized that “Building the Next Generation for the Country” requires students to actively engage with learning opportunities, develop critical thinking skills, and adapt to the fast-changing technological landscape.Ms. Neema Sanish (Program Manager, Oracle Academy) in her felicitation, encouraged students to overcome confusion by setting clear goals and making informed career decisions. Mr Paul Chackola (Head, Training & Placement) acknowledged the challenges of navigating these opportunities, emphasizing the need for students to develop clarity in thought to make informed career choices. Adv. P N Unnirajan (Director–Administration, VICT) advised to strengthen their academic life and future career prospects. Dr Sajay K R (Asso Prof, CSE) proposed vote of thanks.

The establishment of the Oracle Academy at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology is a crucial step toward preparing students to become global citizens with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in the technology-driven world. The event concluded with a call for students to leverage this platform to improve their competencies, embrace novelty, and add significantly to society. Industry-relevant certifications to enhance job opportunities, Internship opportunities in internationally renowned companies, workshops and training programs conducted by Oracle experts etc will get through this venture. Students will also get the opportunity to participate in research projects with Oracle and other institutions. This step by Vidya is the result of discussions with experts on the role of digital transformation in India, the need to maximize the potential of technology through collaboration between government, academia and industry.
