MCA organizes two-day workshop Chip-to-Net 10.1

The dedicated efforts in successfully organizing the two-day Chip-to-Net 9.1 workshop for nine consecutive years stand as a significant milestone for the MCA department.

The MCA Department successfully conducted Chip-to-Net 10.1, a two-day hands-on workshop for students from Arts and Science colleges during 06-07 February 2025. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 50 students from 12 different colleges.

Mr Dijesh P (Co-ordinator and Asso Prof, MCA) welcomed the participants and dignitaries. Dr. Reji C Joy (HoD, MCA) provided an overview of the workshop. Dr. Sunitha C (Principal) inaugurated the workshop on 06 February  2025 and delivered the inaugural address. Mr. Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT) and Mr.Asokan E G (VICT Coordinator) delivered felicitation speeches. Mr Manesh D (Co-coordinator, Asst Prof, MCA) proposed the vote of thanks.

Technical Sessions

The workshop comprised four interactive sessions, each focusing on essential technical and soft skills:

  1. Website Creation Using Google Sites
    • Speaker: Ms.Siji K B (Assistant Professor, MCA)
    • This session introduced participants to Google Sites, covering features forwebsite creation and customization.
  1. Web Hosting Management
    • Speaker: Mr.Dijesh P (Associate Professor, MCA)
    • Participants gained insights into web hosting, learning aboutsite security, performance optimization, and cost-effective solutions.
  1. Introduction to LaTeX Using Overleaf
    • Speaker:Dr. Reji C Joy (HoD, MCA)
    • This session introduced LaTeX, a powerful typesetting tool for academic and technical documents, with hands-on practice using Overleaf.
  1. Soft Skills Development – “Excellence Redefined”
    • Speaker:Mr.Manesh D (Assistant Professor, MCA)
    • A session focusing on personal and professional development, emphasizing effective communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, where all participants were awarded certificates and a traditional lamp, symbolizing the light of knowledge at Vidya. Additionally, a Website Designing Contest was conducted, and the winners received cash prizes and certificates.

With its practical learning approach and expert-led sessions, Chip-to-Net 10.1 reinforced the MCA Department’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with essential skills for the digital era.
