Vidya Central Library organizes NDLI Introductory & Registration Session

The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources that goes beyond a traditional archive. It offers a wide range of services tailored to the learner community, featuring advanced search and browse functionalities. Sponsored and mentored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), the NDLI ensures streamlined access to quality educational content.

Developed, operated, and maintained by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, NDLI employs filtered and federated searching techniques to enable focused access to relevant resources with minimal effort and time. The platform supports content in multiple languages and offers user interfaces in 10 widely used Indian languages, thereby promoting inclusive and accessible learning.

During the introductory session, Mr Girish Kumar P. C.(Librarian) provided an overview of the NDLI platform, highlighting its key features and services, including:

• User group-specific services
• Resources for researchers and general learners
• Multilingual content access
• Unified access to diverse learning materials through a single window

To facilitate hands-on experience, a registration and training session was conducted for all first-year B.Tech students on 09 April 2025. The practical session was supported by Ms Surabhi M.S.(Asst Librarian), Mr Aneesh M A (Library Attendant) and Mr. K.Vijayanarayanan (Library Attendant). Students were guided through the NDLI portal registration process and introduced to the platform’s core functionalities.
