CSE Dept conducts Alumni Talk on “Programming in the Age of AI”

The Dept of CSE provides students with a real-world applications of AI in software development by organizing  various sessions.

An insightful alumni talk on the topic “Programming in the Age of AI” was conducted on 23 April 2025, via Google. The session featured Mr Aadithye N ( 2019–2023 batch, CSE Dept)  who is currently serving as an Associate Engineer at Litmus7, Kochi.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Mrithu A S (Asst Prof, CSE Dept) This was followed by an introduction of the speaker by Dr. Sajay K R (HoD  I/c, CSE Dept).

In his address, Mr. Aadithye shed light on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on the programming landscape.He explored the evolving nature of software development, emphasizing the role of AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, and the rise of low-code/no-code platforms. The session provided attendees with a clear understanding of how AI is reshaping the way code is written, debugged, and deployed.

The talk also focused on the changing skill set required for modern programmers.Mr. Aadithye highlighted the significance of understanding machine learning concepts, data ethics, and effective human-AI collaboration. His practical insights and real-world examples resonated strongly with the student audience.

An interactive Q&A session followed, where students engaged in meaningful discussions on career opportunities, the integration of AI in real-world projects, and strategies for staying relevant amidst the rise of automation.The event concluded with an inspiring message from the speaker, encouraging students to view AI not as a challenge, but as an opportunity—to innovate, learn, and drive progress.
