Prestigious recognition for CE Department: Best Paper in Sustainability at SECON ’25

It is with immense pride that the Department of Civil Engineering, celebrate the achievement of Sarath M B (S2, M.Tech in Structural Engineering, CE Dept) whose paper titled “Sustainable Practices on Metallic Foam Sandwich Panels in Steel Plate Shear Walls as a Part of Green Building” has received the prestigious Abu Faiz Memorial Award for Best Paper in Sustainability at SECON 25, International Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction Management organized by the Department of Civil Engineering at Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) during 04-07 June 2025.

The paper was done under the guidance of Mr. A R Kiran Babu (Asst Prof, CE Dept) The recognition, presented by the Principal of FISAT and the father of Late Abu Faiz, adds a deeply meaningful dimension to this honour. The selection of their paper for publication in Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering by Springer Nature further affirms the quality, innovation, and relevance of their research. 

Ms Nisha Varghese (M.Tech Coordinator, Asst Prof, CE Dept) also played a pivotal role, as her steadfast support and mentorship contributed significantly to the project’s success.
