NSS conducts Yoga outreach at Friends of Jesus Bhavanam on International Yoga Day
Vidya NSS volunteers fostered holistic well-being and conveyed the significance of International Yoga Day by conducting yoga sessions. As part of the International Yoga Day celebrations, NSS volunteers from Vidya Academy of Science and Technology visited Friends of Jesus Bhavanam, Gagultha, on 21 June 2025.
A total of 24 NSS volunteers actively participated in the initiative. The yoga session was led by Aruna R Menon (Volunteer Secretary, S6 CSE Dept), who demonstrated a series of yoga postures and breathing techniques. Her engaging presentation encouraged both volunteers and inmates to participate wholeheartedly, making the session interactive and enriching.
Approximately 40 inmates of the Bhavanam took part enthusiastically in the session, contributing to a lively and meaningful experience for all involved. The program successfully fostered a sense of connection, peace, and collective well-being.
The event was meticulously planned and executed under the leadership of NSS Volunteer Secretaries — Mrithyunjay R (S6, EEE Dept), Nistal K Paul (S6, ME Dept) and Aruna R Menon (S6, CSE Dept). Their teamwork in coordinating rehearsals, managing logistics, and ensuring the smooth flow of activities was highly commendable.
