Kerala Police Pol-Blood Project honours Vidya NSS with first place under Rudhirasena (2024–25)
The NSS units of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur, achieved a remarkable milestone by securing First Place in the category College that Mobilized the Highest Number of Blood Donors for their exemplary work during the 2024–25 academic year through the Rudhirasena Project. The award was presented at Hemopol 2025, held on 30 July 2025 at the Mind Auditorium, PTC, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram.
Hemopol 2025 is a prestigious state-level program organised by the Pol-Blood Project, an initiative of the Kerala Police, in collaboration with the Kerala State Blood Transfusion Council. The event recognises and honours institutions and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to voluntary blood donation in Kerala.
The POL Blood Project (Platform for Online Blood) is a digital initiative of the Kerala Police that connects voluntary blood donors with patients and hospitals in urgent need, ensuring timely and effective blood supply. As part of this initiative, the Rudhirasena Project—a flagship program of the NSS Cell, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University—mobilises NSS volunteers from technical institutions to promote and coordinate blood donation drives across the state.
The award was handed over by Mr Ravada A Chandrasekhar IPS (Director General of Police cum State Police Chief), to Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, ME Dept), who received it along with the Rudhirasena coordinators of Vidya NSS units (Aswin P Prakash (S7 CSE Dept), Aljin Joby (S7, CSE Dept), Ardra Shanmughan (S7, EEE Dept), Aruna R Menon (S7, CSE Dept), Aswathy E S (S7, CSE Dept), Devika Mothilal (S7, ECE Dept) and Jithisha U J (S5, CSE Dept),
This recognition honours their exceptional commitment and coordination in mobilising the largest number of donors during 2024–25. Their achievement reflects months of tireless awareness campaigns, meticulous planning, and the selfless service of volunteers who came forward to donate blood and save lives.
This accolade not only celebrates Vidya’s leadership in voluntary blood donation but also stands as a testament to the power of collective action in addressing critical community needs. The NSS units of Vidya continue to inspire with their motto, “Not Me, But You,” upholding the values of service, compassion, and social responsibility.
