CE Dept organizes alumni interaction on BIM and and career development in AEC Industry

To provide students with an industry-oriented perspective on Building Information Modelling (BIM), an alumni interaction with Ms. Blessy Theres Paul V (2015–19 Batch,CE Dept ) currently working as an Architectural BIM Engineer at Computer Network Service, Dubai, was organized on 20 August 2025.

The objective of the session was to provide students with an industry-oriented perspective on Building Information Modelling (BIM), its applications in modern architectural and construction practices, and the professional competencies required to excel in the global construction sector.

During the interaction, Ms. Blessy shared her professional journey, highlighting her transition from academic learning to working in the international construction and design industry. She elaborated on the role of BIM in:

  • Collaborative project management

  • Clash detection

  • Quantity take-off

  • Sustainable design solutions

She also discussed the challenges of adapting to diverse project requirements, cross-disciplinary coordination, and working in technologically advanced environments like Dubai’s construction sector.

The session emphasized:

  • Online alumni-led knowledge-sharing initiatives
