| Engineers’ Day is observed on 15 September every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, a visionary engineer, statesman, and scholar whose contributions laid the foundation for modern engineering in India. The celebration serves as an occasion to reflect on the vital role engineers play in shaping the world and to encourage students to pursue excellence, creativity, and ethical responsibility in their professional endeavors. |
| As part of the Engineers’ Day Celebration, the IE(I) VAST Student Chapter organized a debate competition titled “TECH TALK 2K25” on 18 September 2025 at 12.10 PM. The topic for the debate was “Future Tech with AI – Boon or Doom ?” The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from first-year B.Tech students, who showcased their critical thinking, communication skills and awareness of emerging technologies. Participants presented well-researched arguments exploring both the promises and perils of Artificial Intelligence in shaping the future. |
| The debate was evaluated by Mr Biju P. V (Asso Prof, ME Dept) and Ms Chithira Ajeeth (Asst Prof, CE Dept) who provided valuable feedback and suggestions for improvement. |

| The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sunitha C (Principal), who shared valuable insights on the evolving role of engineers in shaping sustainable futures.In her address, Dr. Sunitha emphasized the importance of innovation and ethical engineering practices and also highlighted the significance of Engineers’ Day in nurturing future technocrats.The winners of the debate were announced and awarded certificates and prizes.The event concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Roshni Vijay ( Staff Coordinator, IE(I) VAST Student Chapter & Asst Prof, CE Dept).
