Blood Donors Registration Campaign organized by NSS

In observance of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on 01 October 2025, the NSS Unit of Vidya organized a Blood Donors Registration Campaign at Velur Panchayath. The initiative was aimed at promoting awareness on the significance of voluntary blood donation and encouraging community members to register as potential donors for this life-saving cause

Objectives

• To raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation.

• To motivate individuals to register as blood donors.

• To strengthen community participation in humanitarian initiatives.

• To support the availability of voluntary donors for emergency needs.

Around 20 dedicated NSS volunteers actively participated in the campaign. They played a key role in engaging with local residents, explaining the impact of blood donation, and assisting with the registration process. Their commitment and enthusiasm greatly contributed to the success of the event.

The campaign achieved 150 donor registrations from the local community, reflecting Strong public awareness, Positive community engagement and Willingness to contribute to humanitarian causes This remarkable response highlights the community’s spirit and readiness to support life-saving initiatives.

The event was coordinated effectively by the NSS Rudhirasena Coordinators, Jithisha U J (S5, CSE Dept), Daya Rose (S5, CSE Dept)  and Niranjan Agnivesh (S5, ME Dept)

Their teamwork, dedication, and efficient planning were vital to meeting the campaign’s objectives. The programme was conducted under the guidance of  Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, CSE Dept) and   Ms. Anu Maria Antony (NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, CE Dept).

The Blood Donors Registration Campaign conducted in connection with National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was a resounding success. It not only enhanced awareness on the importance of voluntary blood donation but also strengthened the bond between VAST and the local community.
