CE faculty members serve as evaluators for ‘Home Plan Design’ event at VHSE Regional Level Skill Fest

The Dept  of CE makes immense effort to create awareness among VHSE students and staff about the academic programs, facilities, and career opportunities in Civil Engineering and to strengthen collaboration between educatonal institutions and Vidya

Ms. Chithira Ajeeth  (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Ms. Ponsy Paul (Asst Prof – Sr Grade, CE Dept) participated in the Regional Level Skill Fest for Thrissur and Idukki districts held at GHSS Muthuvattoor, Chavakkad, on 28 October 2025. As part of the event, they conducted an awareness session for VHSE students and staff, highlighting the academic programs, laboratory facilities, research opportunities, and career prospects offered by the Department of Civil Engineering at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, and also distributed the Department Calendar as part of an outreach initiative.

They served as evaluators for the “Home Plan Design” competition, assessing participants’ work based on creativity, technical accuracy, and presentation skills. During the event, they engaged in productive discussions with Mr. Arun P. Sankar (Thrissur District Career Guidance Coordinator, VHSE)), and Ms. Naveena (Assistant Director, VHSE), regarding potential collaborations to strengthen links between VHSE institutions and engineering colleges.

They also interacted with Principals from various VHSE institutions in Thrissur and Idukki districts, exchanging ideas on career awareness and higher education opportunities in Civil Engineering, and invited them to the Sci-Pi Project Expo scheduled for 27 November 2025 at the college. Overall, their participation in the Regional Level Skill Fest was a valuable experience that helped promote the Department of Civil Engineering and Vidya Academy of Science and Technology while creating awareness among VHSE students about the scope and opportunities in the Civil Engineering profession.
