Vidya Central Library commemorates 76th Constitution Day with dedication and pride
Vidya encourages students to internalize the values that define the nation’s identity.
Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Diwas, is celebrated every year on November 26 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian constitution shaping the democratic framework of the nation. Recognizing the significance of this historic event, the Government of India officially declared November 26 as Constitution Day in 2015, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Vidya Central Library organized an array of activities to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26 November 2024. Mr. Girish Kumar P.C (Librarian) addressed the importance of the Constitution as a visionary document and highlighted the pivotal role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution
The events began with the reading of the Preamble, presented by Amritha S (S1, AIML Dept), followed by all students taking the oath, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution
Following this, Pavithra Pradeep (S1, AIML Dept) created a unique awareness project highlighting the Constitution and its fundamental duties, demonstrating her understanding and commitment to civic values. She also emphasized the importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education, linking civic responsibility with global development goals.
The event was supported by Ms Surabhi M S (Asst Librarian), Mr Aneesh M A (Library Attendant) and Mr K Vijayanarayanan (Library Attendant)
