CE students learn real-site setting out procedures
To familiarize final-year B.Tech Civil Engineering students with real-site setting out procedures and techniques,a setting out practical session was conducted for final-year Civil Engineering students on 18 December 2025 with the objective of preparing them for real-site practices. The session focused on introducing fundamental techniques and procedures involved in setting out works at construction sites.
The practical session was led by Ms. Chithira Ajeeth (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Ms. Kalyani Vijayakumar (Asst Prof, CE Dept) with the support of Ms. Premalatha A. S (Trade Instructor, CE Dept) and Mr. Sudhakaran T. T (Trade Instructor, CE Dept). Students were trained using standard surveying and setting out instruments, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in site-level applications.
The session helped students understand the importance of accuracy, alignment, and measurement in construction projects, thereby enhancing their confidence and readiness to work in real construction site environments. The practical exposure was well received by the students and contributed significantly to their professional skill development.
