CE Dept organizes KSMART awareness session

With an  aim to familiarize final-year Civil Engineering students with the KSMART platform, enhancing their understanding of digital approval processes, the Dept of Civil Engineering organized a technical session on KSMART (Kerala – Solution for Managing Administrative Reformation and Transformation) for final-year B.Tech Civil Engineering students on 09 January 2026.

The session, delivered by representatives from PIE Builders & Developers, introduced students to practical aspects of civil engineering, including digital approval processes, building permit procedures and statutory documentation. Mr. Athulkrishna V. K. (Founder of PIE Builders & Developers) highlighted career opportunities in employment, self-employment, freelancing, independent consultancy and industrial projects.

A technical team member provided a detailed demonstration on the KSMART platform, focusing on the preparation of AutoCAD drawings compliant with submission standards and common requirements mandated by local authorities. KSMART, a data-centric e-governance solution for LSGIs in Kerala, integrates citizen and employee services through both mobile and web-based platforms, offering a streamlined approach to administrative procedures.

The session concluded with remarks from Dr. Abhilasha P.S.(HoD, CE Dept) who appreciated the resource persons and emphasized the importance of industry-oriented programs. Mr. Athulkrishna  encouraged students to continuously enhance their technical skills, explore diverse professional opportunities, and stay updated with digital tools in construction management.
