CSE Dept organizes Alumni Web Talk titled “Building a Software Career”

With an aimed to guide students in understanding the transition from academic life to the professional software industry, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an Alumni Web Talk titled “Building a Software Career” on 09 February 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The session was conducted in online mode and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the department.

The talk was delivered by Mr. Joel Joseph (Software Development Engineer – HashedIn by Deloitte, 2021–25 batch CSE Dept).The primary objective of the session was to guide students in transitioning from academic life to a professional software career and to familiarize them with industry expectations.

During the session, the speaker shared his personal journey from being a student to becoming a software professional. He elaborated on the importance of building strong fundamentals in programming, strengthening problem-solving abilities, and mastering core computer science concepts. He emphasized the need for continuous learning, adaptability, and consistency to remain relevant in the rapidly evolving software industry.

Mr. Joel Joseph also highlighted the significance of internships, hands-on projects, participation in coding platforms, and gaining real-time exposure in shaping a successful career.
