Vidya signs MoU for Academic–Industry collaboration to enhance practical learning and employability in Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering strengthens practical learning, industry exposure, and employability among B.Tech Civil Engineering students through various initiatives.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Academic–Industry Collaboration was signed on 06 February 2026 between Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Thrissur and Keywords Technologies, Ernakulam.

Keywords Technologies, an authorised TEKLA training centre licensed by Trimble Inc.,offers industry-oriented training, project assistance, and career guidance. Under this MoU, Keywords Technologies will conduct workshops, seminars, expert talks, internships, and provide placement assistance for Civil Engineering students. The industry partner will offer hands-on training, share professional experiences, expose students to modern construction practices, and facilitate interaction with industry professionals, while ensuring discipline in accordance with institutional norms.

VAST, as the academic partner, will provide suitable time slots, necessary laboratory facilities, and infrastructure support. The institution will ensure the availability of resources such as computer systems, projectors, and teaching aids, and will encourage student participation while maintaining academic discipline and institutional regulations.

The MoU is valid for three years and may be amended by mutual consent of both parties. It reflects a shared commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Sunitha C.(Principal, VAST) and Mr. Abin James (Managing Partner, Keywords Technologies). The initiative was coordinated by Dr. Abhilasha P. S. (HoD, CE Dept).
