IEEE VAST SB conducts LinkedIn Hands-on Workshop
IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the world’s largest technical professional organization, with members including engineers, scientists, and other professionals. IEEE focuses on advancing technology and innovation across key engineering domains. It develops standards that can become national and international benchmarks.
Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, through its IEEE Student Branch, hosted a hands-on workshop on LinkedIn titled “Elevate:Your Professional Brand on LinkedIn” on 07 March 2026 at the Computer Center, VAST. The workshop was open to students of all branches from S2 and S4 as well as IEEE members.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about building a strong professional presence on LinkedIn and transforming their profiles into opportunity-generating personal brands. It focused on personal branding, professional networking, and leveraging LinkedIn as a platform for career growth.
The interactive session, “Transforming Your Profile into an Opportunity Engine” was conducted by Sreyas Linith (S6,CSE Dept). During the workshop, the resource person emphasized the importance of personal branding in the digital era and demonstrated how LinkedIn can be effectively used to build a professional identity.
Key topics covered included:
- Optimizing LinkedIn profiles with impactful headlines and summaries.
- Highlighting skills, achievements, and projects effectively.
- Building meaningful professional connections.
- Strategies for increasing visibility and engagement on LinkedIn.
- Practical tips for using professional photographs, keyword optimization, and consistent platform engagement.
The interactive session allowed students to understand how a well-structured LinkedIn profile can serve as a powerful tool for internships, networking, and career opportunities.
The workshop concluded with a lively question-and-answer session, where students clarified doubts regarding profile building, networking strategies, and leveraging LinkedIn for career development.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Mohammed Hashim (Student Chairman, IEEE VAST, S4, ME Dept).
