LUMINA 2026 – VSEC honors the light of service and the hearts behind the mission

A ceremony seeks not only to acknowledge and reward the invaluable contributions of our volunteers but also to inspire continued engagement in social empowerment
Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC), a unit of Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT), is proud to announce the successful completion of its fifth year in 2026, continuing its mission of empowering the key pillars of society-teachers, parents, children, and youth—in alignment with VIDYA’s core vision. This milestone has been made possible through the tireless dedication of our volunteers, whose commitment and passion have been the foundation of VSEC’s programs and initiatives. To honor their invaluable contributions, VSEC  organized  a special session ‘LUMINA’ on 31 March 2026 to recognize the final-year volunteers who have actively served from 2023 to 2026. 
The ceremony opened with a prayer by Ann Rose Rajan (S8, AIML Dept), after which Dr. Siju K C (Head of VSEC, Asso Prof, AS Dept) delivered a welcome address, outlining VSEC’s efforts in student empowerment through scholarships,training programs, and social initiatives,while highlighting the vital role of leadership, skill-building, and community involvement. The chief guest Er. P K.Asokan (Chief Patron, VICT) commended the students for their contributions and inspired them to leverage similar opportunities throughout their future endeavors.As they will not be continuing in their roles from the next academic year onwards, they were encouraged to remain involved by contributing in other meaningful ways.
The vibrant final-year VSEC volunteers—Anjay Krishnan (S8, EEE Dept), Arjun (S8, EEE Dept), Muhammed Aslam V. A (S8, ME Dept),Farzeena P. A (S8, CE Dept) and Mohammed Ishfaq Abdul Rahim (S8, CSE Dept)—shared their reflections on how VSEC has positively influenced both their personal development and professional growth.shared heartfelt feedback on their journey with VSEC, highlighting how the organization has significantly contributed to their personal growth, professional skill development, and sense of social responsibility. They reflected on the opportunities they received to engage in meaningful projects, leadership roles, and community initiatives, and how these experiences have prepared them for challenges beyond college.The mementos were distributed by Mr. Asokan P.K (Chief Patron, VICT),Mr. Thilakan K.K (Vice Chairman,VICT),Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), Dr. Shalij P. R.(Director – Academics),Adv. P. N. Unnirajan IPS (Retd.) (Director-Administration, VICT) and Dr. Sunitha C. (Principal). Ms. Akhila R (VSEC Staff Member, Asst Prof – Sr Grade , EEE  Dept), Mr. Liju Augustine (VSEC Staff Member,Asst Prof, AS Dept), Mr. Santumon S. D (VSEC Staff Member, Asst Prof, ECE  Dept) and  Ms. Aswathy E R (Asst Prof, AIML Dept) also attended the session.
The event was coordinated by  Ms. Surabhi M. S. (VSEC Staff Member, Asst. Librarian) under the guidance of Dr. Siju K C (Head of VSEC, Asso Prof, AS Dept).The success of LUMINA within the constrained period was made possible by the invaluable contributions of all students, with special mention to Gayathri P (Co-coordinator, S6, ECE Dept.) and Suraj Krishna K. (Co-coordinator, S4, CSE Dept.). Suraj (S4, CSE Dept.) and Abhraham (S6, ECE Dept.) handled photography, while Anamika Sebastian (S6, ECE Dept.) and Athira (S6, ECE Dept.) provided dedicated support.
The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending heartiest appreciation to all the NSS Units and involved  on the outstanding effort of ‘LUMINA’ stands as a testament to the dedication, teamwork and spirit of service, and wishes all VSEC volunteers continued success as they uphold the values and vision and strive to make a meaningful impact on society !!!
