Technical Talk on “Emerging Trends and Future Directions in AI and IIoT for EV Charging Infrastructure” by EEE Dept

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organizes a variety of programs aimed at enhancing student skills and fostering professional development.

The Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (AEEE) of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Thrissur, organized a technical talk titled “Emerging Trends and Future Directions in AI and IIoT for EV Charging Infrastructure” on 13 March 2026 at 2:30 PM in the Seminar Hall of the EEE Department.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Mary P. Varghese (HoD, EEE Dept) who warmly welcomed the resource person Er. Cini John (Executive Engineer (NC), Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL) and Team Lead,EV Accelerator Cell). In her address, she emphasized the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in developing efficient, intelligent, and sustainable electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The resource person delivered an insightful session highlighting the latest developments in EV charging technologies, the role of AI in energy management, and how IIoT can improve monitoring, efficiency, and reliability in EV charging networks. The talk provided students with a deeper understanding of the future technological landscape and opportunities in the rapidly growing EV sector.

The session was attended by S4, S6, and S8 EEE students along with faculty members of the department. The programme was highly interactive and encouraged students to explore emerging innovations in the field of electric mobility and smart energy systems.

During the feedback session, Hashim T. H. (S6, EEE Dept) shared positive feedback and appreciated the clarity and relevance of the presentation. As a token of appreciation, Dr. Mary P. Varghese presented a memento to the resource person in recognition of her valuable contribution to the programme.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Harris C. Joby (S4, EEE Dept), who expressed gratitude to the resource person, the Head of the Department, faculty members, and students for their participation and support.
