VSEC student volunteer exhibits her capacity as Resource Person
Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC) always strives to bring out the best version of students by providing them with opportunities and platforms to showcase their knowledge and talents. With this objective, VSEC organized an internal talk on “Global Warming and Its Effects” on 23rd January 2026.
The session was handled by Gayathri P (S6, ECE Dept), who spoke in detail about the causes and impacts of global warming through various real-life examples. The anchoring of the program was done by Anamika Sebastian (S6, ECE Dept). The program began with a silent prayer followed by an introduction about VSEC and a brief introduction of the resource person. Suraj Krishna K (S4, CSE Dept) and Sooraj (S4, CSE Dept) photographed the event.
The session was then started by Gayathri, where she explained the concept of global warming and how the increase in greenhouse gases is leading to a rise in the Earth’s temperature. She discussed several examples such as melting glaciers, rising sea levels, extreme weather conditions, forest fires, and the loss of biodiversity. She also highlighted how human activities like deforestation, industrialization, and excessive use of fossil fuels contribute significantly to global warming. Through different examples, she explained the long-term effects it can have on ecosystems, wildlife, and human life.
Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices such as reducing carbon emissions, planting trees, conserving energy, and promoting eco-friendly habits in daily life. The presentation was delivered in an engaging and informative manner, helping the audience clearly understand the seriousness of the issue.
Dr. Siju K. C (Head, VSEC and Asso. Prof, AS Dept), Ms. Akhila R (VSEC Staff Member,Asst Prof – Sr Grade,EEE Dept) and Ms. Surabhi M.S (VSEC Staff Member, Asst Librarian) shared their valuable insights and appreciated the resource person for presenting the topic in such an effective and informative way.They also encouraged other VSEC volunteers to actively participate in similar sessions and come forward to present topics in the future.
The feedback for the session was given by Manasi A Nair (S6, ECE Dept.) and Mrithunjay R (S8, EEE Dept.) who shared their thoughts and appreciated the clarity and relevance of the presentation.The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Anamika Sebastian (S6, ECE Dept).
