World Blood Donor Day : NSS conducts appreciation ceremony  

Vidya Academy is renowned for its exceptional dedication to the cause of blood donation. World Blood Donors Day, observed on June 14^th every year, is a significant event that celebrates and promotes voluntary blood donation. The NSS Units of the college had  been recognized and honoured for their outstanding efforts in organizing a significant number of blood donation camps during the last academic year. This recognition was received at the “Rudhirasena Annual Meet” held at LBS Institute of Technology for Women, Trivandrum.

Sakthi S (S6 ECE B) was awarded the prestigious title of “Best Rudhirasena Coordinator” for the year 2022-23, acknowledging his exceptional contribution as the Rudhirasena, Thrissur-Palakkad Regional Co-ordinator. Furthermore,the NSS Units were also honored by the Thrissur District General Hospital Blood Bank for their collaborative efforts in conducting blood donation camps and establishing a strong partnership to promote voluntary blood donation. Recently, our NSS team organised four blood donation camps on the dates of 07 June 2022,09 June 2022, 22 August 2022, and 08 March 2023. In addition to these camps, the dedicated volunteers regularly donate blood for emergency cases at the Thrissur Government Medical College Hospital and nearby blood banks.

An appreciation ceremony in this regard was held in the Principal’s chamber on 23 June 2023. Mr Ranjith E R (NSS Programme Officer and Asst Prof, ME Dept) and NSS volunteer secretaries attended the function.  Dr. Saji C B (Principal)  appreciated the contributions by team NSS and acknowledged their impactful initiatives incorporating technology to help the common people to have improved quality in life. The Principal also congratulated the achievers.

The achievements and recognition received by the NSS Units of Vidya are a testament to their unwavering commitment and dedication to the noble cause of blood donation.
