VSSC conducts Training program for faculty members “Enhancing Mentoring Strategies”
Vidya aspires to be instrumental in adding value to the students studying in this institution. To assist maintaining discipline, and acting as link between faculty and students, numerous sessions have been conducting under the auspices of VSSC (Vidya Student Support Cell). A training program on “enhancing mentoring strategies” for Group Tutors was held during 04-5 August 2023 in four sessions. A total of 80 faculty members participated in these sessions.
Er P K Ashokan (Chief Patron VICT), served as a great strength to the faculty members throughout the program. He ensured his presence during the entire program listening to the faculty members and providing timely recommendations. He explained the “Vision of VSSC” and motivated to uphold social commitment and remain as pure souls in one selves. He said that in order to create a real impact on student’s mind, self-reflection is the only path by which the students can realize the change in themselves over a specific period of time. Therefore, Inculcation of Life-Values can only be possible if you let the students learn, explore and experience by themselves, understanding those Life-Values.The organization has taken many strides in the field of supporting students and thereby supporting the society.
Dr Sunitha C (Vice Principal and Head, AIML Dept) interacted with the faculty members and explained the “KTU Mentorship Guidelines”. She emphasised the importance of systematic documentation of GT files for the systematic monitoring of academic progress. Ms Divya Radhakrishnan (Associate, Finance& Administration) extended her selfless contributions. The tips that she shared from her personal experiences sounded like a mentoring guide to everyone. Ms Divya touched upon the importance of values and its implementation in real life and workplace.
Dr Vineetha C P (Asst. Professor, AS Dept) made a few remarks about “VSSC: Growth Oriented Strategic Framework Goals & KPIs. She gave an overview to achieve the great mission and scaling greater heights.The KPIs require the support of staff,all across the institution to drive it in proper direction. Group tutors shred their experiences that served as really wonderful and valuable suggestions for improvement.
