NSS Units host Eye Testing Camp
With an aim to promote eye health, the NSS units of Vidya, in collaboration with Dr Rani Menon Maxivision Eye Hospital, organized a comprehensive Eye Testing Camp on 30 August 2024.
Dr Sunitha C (Principal) inaugurated the event by getting her eyes tested, symbolizing the importance of regular eye check-ups.
Special Features of the Eye Examination:
- Retina and cataract diagnosis: Advanced diagnostic tests to detect early signs of these common eye conditions.
- LASIK treatment tests: Evaluation for LASIK surgery, offering a chance to eliminate the need for glasses.
- Family Health Privilege Card: Participants received a card offering free consultation for 2 months, encouraging long-term eye care.
- Glaucoma diagnosis: Screening for this serious eye condition, which can lead to blindness if untreated.
- Free Keyhole Cataract Surgery: A special offer for those with health insurance, valued at Rs. 15,000, requiring only one week of rest post-surgery.
The program was expertly coordinated by NSS Volunteer Secretaries Aswathy E S, Mrithyunjay R, Nistal K Paul, Devika Mothilal, Obadh Jose, Ardra Shanmughan, Aruna R Menon, and Adarsh N A, under the dedicated guidance of Mr Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer and Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Mr Renjith E R (NSS Programme Officer and Asst Prof, ME Dept) and Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer and Asst Prof, CSE Dept).
The camp’s success was marked by its well-organized structure, innovative diagnostic services, and positive feedback from participants, making it a valuable health initiative on the Vidya campus
