CE faculty members and students attend seminar on World Habitat Day

The Dept of  CE provides valuable insights about the construction of a  a sustainable habitat .

A session was conducted in COSTFORD Ayyanthol, Thrissur on the topic ‘role of youth in building a sustainable habitat for everyone’ to Civil engineering and Architect students, teachers, and professionals from the field on 07 October 2024. Dr Abhilasha P S (HoD CE Dept), Ms. Nirmala Krishnan (Asst Prof, CE Dept), Ms Nisha Varghese (Asst Prof, CE Dept), and B Tech final year students from the Civil Engineering Department attended the program.

The seminar was  inaugurated by Mr Arjun Pandian IAS (District Collector).Following, the dignitaries on the dais shared their thoughts, including senior teachers and experienced professionals.

The session started by addressing the scarcity of houses for poor people and the irony of rich people having multiple residences. Then, moved on to the importance of youth in providing a habitat which can include everyone and is sustainable. An opportunity was given to raise questions clarify doubts and express the thoughts of the audience.
