Annual Athletic Meet 2024

Vidya foster a spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among students by encouraging their active participation in physical activities.

The 17^th edition Annual Athletic Meet of Vidya Academy of Science & Technology was held on 16 -17 December 2024. The meet targeted the wholesome development of the students both physically and intellectually by means of organization and participation in the events. The event was a great success in terms of participation and organization.

Inaugural Ceremony

The Inaugural function commenced with the hoisting of the College Flag by Dr. S Swapnakumar (Principal in charge, HoD, ECE Dept) in the presence of Head of sessions, members of faculty & students. Then started the ‘March Past’ of athletes and the receipt of ‘Salute’ by the Principal followed by Inaugural address and declaration of meet open. Principal handed over the Torch to Abin Babu (S4, M.Tech,ES,ECE Dept), member Kerala Technological University Athletics team for the commencement of torch relay. He was followed by 17 University team members who represented the APJ AKTU in All India/ South India Inter University Championships. Miss Kavya P D light the “Annual Athletic Flame”. Mr. Johan T Deepak, College Sports Secretary led the March Past and took the ‘Oath’ on behalf of all the Athletes gathered. The Department of Computer Science Engineering attained the best performance trophy instituted for ‘March Past’.

Competitions

8 individual events and three relays were held in both Men & Women section and a total 300 registrations were received and 200 students participations reported in the two days event.

Individual Champion

Abin Babu (S4, M.Tech,ES,ECE Dept), Adarsh K P (S4, M.Tech SE,CE Dept), Nandakishore (S8, CSE Dept), Gayathri Vennakott Govind (S6, AIML Dept), Alena C J (S6, CE Dept) and Angel Shaju (S8, ECE Dept) were adjudged the position of ‘Individual Champions’ by securing 2 Individual gold medals.
