NSS Units of Vidya honored with prestigious State-Level awards

The NSS units of Vidya Academy of Science & Technology, Thrissur, have once again demonstrated their unwavering dedication to community service through their tireless commitment to promoting voluntary blood donation. Through impactful and well-organized donation drives, they have made a significant contribution to the state’s healthcare system.

It was a proud and momentous occasion as the NSS units were honored with two prestigious state-level awards by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJAKTU) NSS Blood Cell, Rudhirasena, in recognition of their outstanding efforts during the academic year 2024–25.

The awards were presented during the Rudhirasena State Annual Meet held on 15 June 2025 at UKF College of Engineering and Technology, Kollam. Vidya’s NSS units were bestowed with the following honors:

  1. Award for the College Undertaking the Most Blood Donations through Camps
  2. Award for the College Organizing the Most Blood Donation Camps

During the academic year 2024–25, the college organized four blood donation camps, resulting in a remarkable total of 391 voluntary blood donations.

The awards were presented by Dr. Anzer R N (State NSS Officer for Kerala) who handed over the certificate and memento to the college representatives. The recognitions were received by the Rudhirasena NSS Coordinators of Vidya in the esteemed presence of NSS leaders, volunteers, and dignitaries from across the state.

These accolades stand as a testament to Vidya’s strong commitment to social responsibility and its significant role in advancing the values and mission of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
