VSEC Head delivers session on ‘Cracking AI’s Math Magic’

The Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC), an initiative of the Vidya International Charitable Trust, is committed to driving impactful programs that promote social empowerment and uplift communities.

Dr. Siju K. C (Head, VSEC and Asso. Prof, AS Dept) delivered an enlightening session titled “Cracking AI’s Math Magic” on 07 June 2025. The talk was organized as part of the Academic Excellence Programme of the Kovilakath Foundation, aimed at nurturing the intellectual growth of its scholarship students.

In this session, Dr. Siju demystified the mathematical principles that underpin the creation of word clouds—an engaging and visual representation of text data. He walked students through the complete process, beginning with frequency analysis and probability calculations, and culminating in the scaling and visualization of words based on their significance in the text.

What made the session particularly impactful was Dr. Siju’s ability to connect abstract mathematical ideas with practical applications in artificial intelligence and data analysis. The talk highlighted how mathematics, computer science, and language processing converge in tools like word clouds, making them a vital part of modern AI-driven text analysis.
