Fostering innovation and collaboration in Civil Engineering – ‘REACT’ marks its ninth edition

Bringing together minds from academia and industry, the Department of Civil Engineering has been conducting the National Conference on Recent Emerging Advances in Civil Engineering and Technology (REACT) for the ninth consecutive year, with the aim of facilitating meaningful discussions on innovative trends and research in civil engineering and its sub-disciplines

The CE Dept successfully hosted the ninth edition of the National Conference on Recent Emerging Advances in Civil Engineering and Technology (REACT 2025) on 25–26 June 2025. This annual flagship event provided a dynamic platform for researchers, academicians, and professionals to share insights into the latest advancements in civil engineering and its allied disciplines.

The inaugural ceremony, held on 25 June 2025, was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kumar C. P (Director, Centre for Advanced Learning & Development, Thrissur) who served as the Chief Guest. The program began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Abhilasha P. S.(HoD, CE Dept) followed by the presidential address by Dr Sunitha C (Principal). Ms Nisha Varghese (Conference Coordinator, Asst Prof, CE Dept) presented an overview of REACT 2025, outlining its objectives and thematic focus areas. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Ardra P Nair (Co-Coordinator, Asst Prof, CE Dept)

The conference featured 23 paper presentations across parallel technical sessions, covering a wide spectrum of civil engineering domains, including, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering,Environmental Engineering,Water Resources Engineering and Building Technology & Construction Management

The valedictory function, held online via Google Meet on 27 June 2025  began with a welcome address by Mr. Kiran Babu A. R (Asst Prof, CE Dept) followed by closing remarks from Dr. Abhilasha P. S. who reflected on the conference’s contributions to academic and industry dialogue. Ms. Ponsy Paul (Asst Prof, CE Dept) delivered vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all participants, organizers, and stakeholders.

REACT 2025 served as a valuable platform for budding engineers to engage with emerging challenges and innovations in the civil engineering landscape, fostering meaningful knowledge exchange. Select papers from the conference will be published in the International Journal of Scientific Research in Engineering & Technology (IJSREAT).

The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending hearty appreciation to Dr Abhilasha, Ms Nisha, Ms Ardra and the entire CE Dept on the resounding success of REACT 2025:  Ed 9  that empowers budding researchers to engage with emerging issues in Civil Engineering and share their ideas with the academic community !!!
